The Capto is yet another ground breaking innovation from CMC. This highly intuitive yet simple device combines a multi-functional rope grab and a high-efficiency pulley with an integrated becket all into one space saving, weight saving, time saving device.
The CMC Capto provides rope techs and rescue professionals with a single compact, versatile and easy to use device that immediately replaces multiple other components. It is extremely well suited to a multitude of technical rope applications in both personal and team-based systems. The fact that the device can easily be installed on a fully tensioned rope & that no carabiner is required for the pulley make it a stand out. The Capto works especially well with the CMC Clutch, two of each devices making for the perfect twin tension rope system. Use the Capto in hauling systems, as an ascender for short rope or ‘RAD’ ascending, a load limiting grab in highline rigging, an adjustable anchor point on a tensioned rope & a host of other applications.

As we mentioned above, the Capto has a hollow cam axle (3.9mm diameter) for installing an accessory loop to support remote resets and device stowage. CMC offers the Capto Soft Shackle accessory which is strong, durable and specifically sized for this purpose. If you’d like one, just add one to your cart at the same time.
The Soft Shackle is made from 3.5mm cordage with a loop size of 60mm and a breaking strength of 451kg.
