The CMC DNA: For the Rescue Expert

The CMC DNA Steel Carabiner is a unique “helical-shaped” connector which has a twisted carbon steel body. The twist enables a 90 degree rotation of any connected device giving you the optimal alignment and offset load management.

When used in a Double Clutch Twin Tension Rope System, the DNA optimises the Clutch handle alignment to allow a single operator to manage both Clutch handles for simultaneous twin tension control. Further features of the CMC DNA include:-

Safety of an auto locking triple gate action
High tensile Strength of 40kN
A wide, 3cm gate opening
The low profile gate rotates through small attachment points, including the Clutch.
The opening incorporates the Keylock system so as to prevent snagging
The sleeve is easy to open, even when wearing gloves
The carabiner has a burnished finish which gives greater visibility of the markings

The DNA Carabiner has been developed especially to work with the CMC Clutch from Harken, but we can see many other potential applications. Rope access technicians will love the ability to correctly align slung loads or set their descent devices for the optimum orientation on their harnesses.
