The Akimbo – An Innovative Mid-Line Attachable Climbing Tool

The Rock Exotica Akimbo is a versatile mid-line attachable friction device that can be removed or installed on the rope in seconds, without detaching from the harness. Suitable for both SRT and DRT climbing methods, the Akimbo allows climbers to smoothly ascend and descend, or position within the canopy.

This lightweight and compact device can accommodate a range of approved ropes from 11.5 – 13mm (see Downloads below). Friction can be easily adjusted to accommodate for variations in climber weight, changes to the environment, or to adjust for natural wear of the contact surfaces.
