Designed for the rope access professional, the ASAP Lock is one of the premier backup devices available on the market. In case of a sudden movement, the ASAP Lock will lock onto your rope, arresting your fall, even if you grab the device whilst falling.
Unlike the ASAP, the ASAP lock can be removed from your back-up rope without disconnecting it from it’s connector or lanyard. This eliminates the risk of dropping the ASAP when transferring from rope to rope. The second difference is that the ASAP Lock has a user controlled locking function which isolates the mechanism and allows the device to remain stationary on the rope. This can prevent excess rope being dragged through the device in windy conditions.Further features of the Petzl ASAP Lock include:-
- Will work on vertical or angled rope
- Will move along the rope without manual intervention (downwards and upwards)
- Is easy to install and remove at any point on the rope
- The connection arm makes the system loss-resistant when passing intermediate anchors
