The two mysterious loops below the waist D ring… what are they for?
The ATOM Rescue harness has been a huge success for us here at SAR; we do frequently find, however, that end users aren’t aware of the purpose of the two textile loops below the waist D ring. These two loops face in opposite directions, are quite small & aren’t immediately obvious.
The two loops are, of course, to enable attachment of a work seat such as the CMC Skysaddle or Petzl Podium. Whilst the Atom Rescue is not primarily aimed at rope access technicians (the ATOM Access is) it can be easily retrofitted with a chest ascender. To complete the ensemble a work seat is simply connected to the two small loops & you are ready to start work in comfort.
