The Mamba, Developed for Rescue

The Mamba Sling from Texora was developed with rescue professionals and firefighters in mind. It is a strong, lightweight sling that is resistant to fire, abrasion and acids. In fact, the para-aramid fibre core has a 450°C melting point, whilst the Polyester Elastane Sheath has a melting point of 230°C. This doesn’t mean, of course, that you shouldn’t follow best practices when placing and using your slings.

The Mamba has an end to end breaking strength of 49kN, and yet is light and flexible enough to carry around on your harness or even in your pocket. Other features of the Mamba include:-
  • The sling is firm and yet flexible making them easier to wrap around hard to reach places
  • The polyester sleeve is easy to handle & very durable
  • You can use these slings overlapped(multi or single) or in a Choke Hitch
  • You can join two slings together with an appropriate carabiner or shackle for even more versatility
  • It is available in a range of lengths
  • Resistant enough to use near fire, acids and for welding.

    Everyone's New Favourite

Although the Texora Mamba was originally designed for emergency workers like firefighters, we’ve found that their lightness, strength and durability means that these slings are everyone’s new go to. Rope access, rigging and defence are just some of the other industries that love the Mamba.

Texora does not allow tying of knots in slings or tying two slings together. This is because these actions significantly reduce the breaking strength of the slings.

There is ONE exception, but it DOES NOT apply to the Mamba.
