The Harken Wingman can be used as either a 4:1 or 5:1 system; and is versatile enough to be used in work positioning, AHD rigging and, of course, rescue. Designed as an ideal solution for pick-offs, you’ll also find that the Wingman is great for creating adjustable directionals, dynamic directionals, hauling systems and redirection of anchors. You can effortlessly and smoothly raise and lower loads of up to 300kg.
The Wingman’s innovative design makes it among the first offerings in this category to provide internal progress capture, mechanically within the unit, rather than relying on Prusiks to achieve that externally. The system has a ratcheting sheave to stop the rope with a composite handle or wing that the operator can open and close under load for a well-modulated ‘fine-tuned’ release. Under full load even with the sheaves pulled completely together, the system may be released quite easily–with full control using one hand on the wing and the other tending the line.
Some of the other features of the Harken Wingman include:-
If you choose the Wingman option with a 3m throw, then you can also grab the ballistic nylon carrying case. It comes with a locking buckle and drain grommets. Plus internally, there is a drawstring area so that you can easily separate the unit and the line.
The Wingman has been designed and manufactured for use by experienced professionals only. Please do not attempt to use this system without prior training. Simply reading the instructions does not qualify you to use this equipment.
