The Rock Exotica Totem is a deceptively simple-looking, yet remarkably versatile device. More than just a descender, the Totem excels at rigging, releasable contingencies, belaying and more. As a descender the totem has a multitude of friction modes to suit any situation. It’s unique shape allows it to function like a lever to increase or decrease friction and act as an auto-lock release.

The Totem can be be used as a rigging plate, an easy-to-lock-off figure 8, sticht plate, auto-blocking plaquette device, plus much more.
