The most recent edition of the SWW the newsletter from SafeWork NSW has a great article on workers and working at heights. Entitled ‘It’s Not Always a Long Way Down’, the article summarises some recent accidents (and the fines imposed on those found at fault); points out that 19 people have died after falling from a height in NSW over the past three years, and that more than 13,000 people were injured and about 200 permanently disabled. Not good.
The article then goes on to talk about the three steps to remember when faced with a task at height – the same three steps we cover in every Working at Heights course we conduct.
