Changes to Training & Assessment

From 1 September 2009, there are some changes to the way you are trained and assessed for a construction induction card or a high risk work licence.  If you do certain types of high risk work- such as dogging, rigging, scaffolding, or operating forklifts, cranes or hoists - you need a licence from WorkCover.  Previously, a WorkCover-accredited assessor would have assessed you for a national certificate of competency.  Under the new system, RTOs manage all of the training and assessment for high risk work licences.
